Privatise Public Hospitals now!
If
I have my way, free health care will be a thing of the past. I believe
everybody must have private health insurance before they can obtain treatment
in hospital. Otherwise they miss out even if their condition is
life-threatening. People have had it too easy enjoying the so called "free
health care" and i want it to end.
I am
fed up with hospitals being run by lazy governments and i
am fed up with blame shifting between state and federal governments when it
comes to running public hospitals.
As
far as I am concerned any Federal takeovers of public hospitals is not a
solution to the problems facing the public hospitals and I am of the strong
belief that health should no longer be the responsibility of any government.
Health
should be the responsibility of private sector meaning that everybody will have
to pay for their own private health insurance before they are admitted to
hospital, otherwise they will be denied treatment regardless of their
conditions, even if it is life threatening.
Even
aborigines, the old people, the poor, the children and the disabled will have
to obtain private health insurance before they are admitted to hospital, and
the same rules apply, no insurance, no treatment even if the condition is life
threatening. There are no exemptions regardless of the circumstances facing
anybody.
I
also call for health insurance reforms omitting people who obtain minor illness
& injury best treated by a GP and who obtain illness & injury caused by
smoking, illegal drugs & alcohol from making a claim on the health
insurance policy meaning those people targeted by the reforms will have to pay
the full cost of the medical bill (including hospital costs) sent to them. Any patient wasting doctor & staff time
or gain sympathy from the staff while not showing serious illness or injury
will be forced to pay 10 times the normal uninsured hospital bill and they
cannot claim insurance for being a fake patient.
I
feel that if the health system was privatised it would end all the dodgy calls
that doctors make, and it will stop people who do not need to be in hospital
from being admitted to hospital.
In
the long run the health system will recover because then nobody will be able to
abuse the system because they will all be paying for their own treatment.
Heritage Listing of
Cerebral Palsy and Deaf Culture announced in a historic decision that is
everlasting
I
am pleased and proud to announce to you that I have made a life-long decision
to the last day of my life to reject treatment and cures for Cerebral Palsy and
I am proud to announce that I will remain Deaf in a life-long decision made in
1989 to the last day of my life. Today (18th November 2005) I have
announced that Deaf Culture and Cerebral Palsy are now Heritage Listed for the
rest of my natural life to the last day of my life.
Heritage
Listing preserves things embarked for elimination in a
ever changing world.
As
the cures and treatments evolve to eliminate cerebral palsy in the ever
changing medical world, fears are increasing that people will try to make me
undergo treatment for cerebral palsy to try and treat or cure me. My
position has been as steadfast as ever since I completely reject any treatment
and cures ever in my lifetime.
I
am against being cured and I am against the idea of being able to walk like a
normal person especially in my lifetime and for the rest of my life. I am
even against treatments of all kinds to treat cerebral palsy.
Now
with the heritage listing of cerebral palsy and Deaf Culture in my life doctors
and people are banned from treating me and even curing me ever in my lifetime,
and it is a life-long decision to put Deaf Culture and cerebral palsy under
heritage listing.
It
is designed to protect the Deaf culture well in the future and it is designed
to protect disability from being a thing of the past. And it is a proud
historic moment ensuring that my disabilities are preserved and saved even
though a cure may occur in the future. It means doctors can't treat me or
cure me for the rest of my life regardless.
I
made a life-long decision to remain Deaf by resoundingly rejecting a
recommendation (supported by some members of my family) by a doctor in 1989 to
have a bonic ear implant to boost hearing after my
hearing was lost in my left ear due to an earlier operation to fix up a
tropical ear.
So
the heritage listings ensure that the lifelong decision to remain Deaf and to
leave cerebral palsy left untreated and intact is in effect to the last day of
my life even though a cure or treatments may one day be found to eliminate the
condition. In no way do I ever want cerebral palsy or Deaf Culture eliminated
in my lifetime and my stance is effective to the last day of my life.
Botox Injections and
other treatments for cerebral palsy rejected.
Despite advancing treatments
in the medical world, I have decided once again to reject all the treatments
available for cerebral palsy stating it is within my wish and desire to oppose
treatment if I wanted to.
Rejecting treatment is not
new. I rejected the doctor's recommendation that I get a bionic implant
in my left ears in a bid to get more hearing, stating instead to accept my
lower hearing level in a natural form. My decision at the time raised a
few eyebrows but I stood firm nevertheless and only listened to my wishes
rather than my family's wishes. The decision I made in 1989 stands and is upheld and I have no plans ever to review the decision to
reject that implant as it is a life-long decision.
I had lower hearing at a
result of a operation on my left ear in 1989 to fix a
bad ear drum which arose from a tropical ear infection in Queensland.
Regardless of how much people
want to see me going through treatment, I strongly oppose all forms of
treatments for a lot of reasons.
I do not want people to
approach me about Botox injections, stem cell treatment or any other treatments
or cures about my cerebral palsy ever under any circumstances, because I am
happy to leave my current condition untreated and left intact for the rest of
my natural life.
I have performed well enough
at life without these treatments and I do not want the treatments at any cost
and under any circumstances anyway.
While it have worked in other
cases, I have no plans to seek any treatments ever for my conditions and I am
NOT interested in botox injections, NOT interested in
stem cell treatments, and NOT interested in any other treatments in relation to
treating cerebral palsy.
Despite people's
disappointments, I uphold the decision not to treat my condition as a long life
decision in a similar fashion to the bionic implant decision that will see my
condition left untreated for the rest of my life. I hope the people
understand my decision to reject such treatments for cerebral palsy as a
life-long decision.
Leave me alone! - I
vote a resounding NO to be treated or cured for cerebral palsy.
Despite
scientists and medical staff believing that stem cell treatment will improve
the lives of cerebral palsy sufferers, I have decided to reject and dismiss
calls to be cured or treated using stem cell treatment.
I
don't want to be cured or treated despite being born with cerebral palsy, and I
am angry people are continuing to see me as a burden.
I
ask you to respect my decision to leave my cerebral palsy alone and I don't
want to be cured.
The
reasons for my decision to reject stem cell treatment are because of fears of
side effects.
I
had problems in the past treatments leading to side effects, and that is the
reason why I have decided to reject treatment for cerebral palsy.
I
don't want to be part of the exciting new technology as I would prefer to live
with the current cerebral palsy for the rest of my life.
No
matter what the people says, and no matter how much they want me to be treated
or cured for cerebral palsy I do NOT want a bar of it, and I have voted a
resounding NO to stem cell treatment for treatment and cures to cerebral palsy.
Stem Cell Treatment
should be banned at all costs
I
believe that the Australian society is too focused on health and treatment for
all conditions, and I am angry that people still see me as a big burden and
that is why I have rejected stem cell treatment for cerebral palsy for my
entire lifetime.
I
do not want people to suggest I undergo treatment for cerebral palsy and I
don't want them to deny me the help and the pension that I do need even if I
refuse and reject as expected to undergo treatment for cerebral palsy. So
I introduce a new rule banning everybody from suggesting I should undergo stem
cell treatment for cerebral palsy.
I
fear as people start to treat people with cerebral palsy I may be denied all
the care and the pension because people will say to me there are treatments
available something I do not wish to accept.
Tough
luck if people are disappointed and angry with my decision not to be treated
for cerebral palsy. I have my reasons.
And
my rejection of treatments is not new. In 1989 a doctor suggested I
undergo a bonic ear implant but at the time I decided
to reject it due to fears of side effects, as I already had side effects
arising from an operation to fix a damaged ear drum from a bad tropical ear
leading to loss of hearing on my left ear even though I was born Deaf.
I
fear there could be side effects to the stem cell treatment for cerebral palsy
so I ask people to leave me alone and respect my decision to reject treatment
for cerebral palsy.
I
am against health care and treatment even if it is life saving treatment of all
costs due to my ideology, as my ideology suggests I am better off and happier
to let nature take its course even if I am confronted with a life threatening
illness.
